About Hertzman Global Ventures

Not Your Father’s Consulting Firm

We’re not consultants

Hertzman Global Ventures is a supply chain intelligence and solutions company. It helps fashion brands and retailers of all sizes succeed with overseas production, diversify their production matrices, identify and secure key sourcing locations, aid in product development, and, most importantly, reduce inventory liability and improve margin by optimizing the supply chain.

Hertzman Global is unlike any other supply chain solutions, consulting, or sourcing company serving the industry today. We’re not consultants; we’re practitioners who both identify and implement effective solutions.

01

We have real-world, on-the-ground experience in every relevant country. Unlike most “consultants”, our solutions aren’t theoretical. They’re ready to execute today.

02

We practice what we preach. We don’t just tell you what to do, we help you succeed with it.

03

More comprehensive experience than any other. Hertzman Global founder Edward Hertzman has studied the industry for the last 20 years from every angle, having worked as a sourcing agent and brand owner, as well as the publisher of the leading B2B sourcing publication. No one has experience that is as comprehensive.

Our values also set us apart.

We believe in healthy competition.

We’re committed to transparency.

Integrity is everything. Ours is a relationship business, and good relationships begin with a foundation of trust.

In a too-frequently transactional world, we’re known for our long-term client partnerships. We’ll be with you every step of the way.

The Hertzman Global Origin Story: Unparalleled Experience, Now Available to You

Very early in his career, Edward Hertzman saw that brands have a lifecycle. While brands come and go, Edward realized every brand needs an effective supply chain. He further saw that because of its back-office nature, the supply chain wasn’t attracting attention and human capital commensurate with its importance to the industry’s success.

Sensing an opportunity, starting in the early 2000s, while working for companies like Synergies Worldwide and Pearl Global, Edward Hertzman became a student of fashion-industry supply chains. He spent years in countries few tourists will ever visit, like India, China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Vietnam. While in country, he gained practical on-the-ground intelligence and learned stitch-by-stitch, operation-by-operation, and how garments are made from a manufacturer’s perspective. This gave him a global perspective, giving him a front-row seat to see firsthand what was working well and, more importantly, what wasn’t working well.

Edward Hertzman then took those insights and founded Sourcing Journal in 2009 to bring those insights to the industry. It quickly grew in circulation to become the foremost supply chain journal in the industry. In 2017, he sold Sourcing Journal and its sister publications, Rivet and Vamp, to Penske Media Group. He then continued to run that brand, and, beginning in August 2020, he was promoted to Executive Vice President of Fairchild Media and its publications, WWD, FN and Beauty Inc.

After over a decade of reporting to the industry that there was a better way, Edward Hertzman became frustrated by the lack of real-world change he witnessed. As a result, he decided to found Hertzman Global Ventures to implement the solutions the industry so desperately needs.

Hertzman Global is convinced there is a better way to source than the common methods used today, which date back to the early days of global production.  We believe you can lower your inventory liability, improve your margins, and free up working capital. This will allow you to invest in sustainability, technology, and human capital.

What got us here won’t get us there. Without a change in how the industry handles its production and sourcing, we will not be able to move forward. In fact, without change, it’s likely our industry will fall further behind every year. The time is now to change your processes and mentality to succeed. It’s not just where you source but how you source. We’re past the point in time when incremental change is enough.
